Oblivion is one of the best games ever made. It has no equal in its genre, and RPG fans rank it among the best RPGs ever made. For those who don't know, Oblivion is an open world game where your choices really matter. The game takes place in Cyrodiil, a province under seige by the Daedric prince Mehrunes Dagon after he inexplicably destroys all of Tamriel's major cities with meteors. He then goes on to invade and terrorize Cyrodiil. Note: This guide is for the standard version of Oblivion. Certain aspects of the expansion, "Knights of the Nine," will be addressed in a separate guide. I will cover everything you need to know about how to play Oblivion. This guide is written from a role-playing perspective where it is assumed you, as the player, want to experience the game in multiple ways by making your own character and exploring Cyrodiil in whatever way you choose. This guide will cover everything you need to know in order to get started and go wherever you want in the game. This includes all levels of gameplay, from making a character that can finish the main quest successfully, to making a character that can explore Cyrodiil and win every battle using only one hand. It is impossible to cover all possible playstyles in detail in such a small article, but this guide should help you understand how to find success whatever your playstyle may be. This guide may also be used by players who have already played Oblivion and want to rediscover it or try something different with their next playthrough. It contains important information that will not be lost, either because you follow the guide exactly, or because you skip over parts. I have written this guide using many of my own characters and several mods installed to verify various aspects of the game. I encourage you to do this as well. There are several ways to get an Alternate Start mod for Oblivion, such as read-only saves and TESMer's Cheat Table, but none of these is perfect and most will interfere with your ability to use most mods. Therefore I advise against using these methods due to their lack of flexibility and ease of use in comparison with an Alternate Start mod made by me. Alternate Start - Beginnings [Version 1.7] is the best choice for an Alternate Start mod. This mod allows you to choose your character's race and sex, but leaves everything else, such as birthsign and class, under the control of the player. This is ideal for roleplaying and for new players who want to make a successful character without spending an excessive amount of time making a character. Many choices in the mod eliminate loopholes that may allow you to play without at least some roleplaying, while still allowing you to many things you are unlikely to find in any other mod. There are also several different quest options available that are designed with roleplaying in mind. cfa1e77820
